Professional Organizations

Academic Societies and Associations

Economists usually join a national organization of economists (such as the Canadian Economics Association), and more narrowly focused organizations which provide journals and conferences for specialists in their own field of study. They may also attend the meetings of one of the international (or regional) economics associations. As students become familiar with journals in economics, and develop an interest in certain sub-fields, they may want to check out the resources that these organizations provide both online, and through membership and participation in conferences.
